Hello and welcome to the NSW Committee on Adoption and Permanent Care Inc. website. It gives me
great pleasure to welcome you to our website and I hope the information contained within provides
you with a better understanding of the NSW Committee on Adoption and Permanent Care Inc. and
some of the issues pertaining to adoption and permanent care in NSW.
The NSW Committee on Adoption and Permanent Care was established over 50 years ago as a forum to provide advice and views to pertinent adoption issues, including the reviewing and implementation of adoption legislation, the development of adoption conferences and training, including producing the production of adoption resources – just to name a few.
Although you may not have heard of the NSW Committee on Adoption and Permanent Care, throughout our past 50 years we have contributed to many significant milestones that have shaped adoption practice in NSW. The NSW Committee on Adoption and Permanent Care is unique within Australia as no other State or Territory has such a Committee solely focused on adoption and permanent care issues.
I would like to thank our members who come from a background of either having personal adoption journeys or who are professionals in the field of adoption and permanent care. They volunteer their time, experience and knowledge as we strive as a collective to keep abreast of adoption and permanent care issues while providing sound and informed advice to ensure best practice is paramount.
Lastly, and most importantly, I would like to extend a very big “THANK YOU” to Elastic Digital for finally making the NSW Committee on Adoption and Permanent Care visible on the internet. We truly value and appreciate all of the assistance, time, effort and generosity that they have provided in getting this website up and running after so many years. It is fantastic to be readily available on the internet and this will only assist in promoting community awareness and understanding of the many issues and perspectives associated with adoption, past, present and future.
