The NSW Committee on Adoption and Permanent Care has produced several publications for the
adoption and permanent care community, since it was established in the 1960s.
More recently, the NSW Committee on Adoption and Permanent Care has published a booklet entitled
Further Down the Track (2000), which is the updated version of the original publication. Down the Track
(1990), including personal stories from those with an experience of adoption reunion, 10 years after the
NSW adoption legislation changed.
The NSW Committee on Adoption and Permanent Care also published Releasing the Past: Mothers’
stories of their stolen babies (2007), a collection of the experiences of mothers affected by forced
adoption, edited by Christine A. Cole. The compilation and publication of this book was commissioned
from the 1998 Inquiry into Adoption Practices in NSW.
